Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu. Published November 5, 2013 by Putnam Juvenile. CDN $ 11.99 Kindle edition.
He is a Legend. She is a Prodigy. Who will be Champion? June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic—and each other—and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government’s elite circles as Princeps-Elect, while Day has been assigned a high-level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them: just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country’s defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything. (Goodreads Excerpt)
OMG I absolutely loved this book and the whole freaking series. It was emotional and heart wrenching and holy cow I wish there was a sequel. Sigh…I will have to use my imagination. Marie Lu does leave us with a glimmer of hope.
I’m gushing I know…but it was a really great story…so real and…sad/emotional/exhilarating? All of it.
I have to say I am really impressed with the world Marie Lu has created. The story sucks you in right from the start and you see the characters grow and learn and love and…I’m gushing again. Sorry 😉 It is rare but I have to say that this book was as good if not better than the other two. It is full of action and suspense and drama and emotion and and and. I cna’t help it, it was good.
K enough said…go read the books…all of them.
5 stars for me.
