Whoever says Hell is the worst place imaginable obviously never spent a day at Dove Creek High School.  There needs to be an inscription on its front gates reading, “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.”

What I needed was to be wanted in a world I no longer felt a part of.  More than that, I needed to be desired, loved in spite of my faults.  I needed something, or someone, to fill the void that had been empty far too long.  I said it as best as I could with three words.  “Kiss me again.”

I just finished this book and decided to use it again for this week’s teaser.  It was fantastic, very emotional and gripping.  I have to give my daughter credit for this one.  I will post a review soon.

He always knows what to say to me.  How to make me feel normal.  I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have survived Brady’s death without him.  In fact, I know I wouldn’t have.

I tried to stop her but was held back by Soeur Berthe’s brawny arms.  She did not release me, no matter how hard I kicked her with my heavy wooden clogs. ‘Salope,’ I cried, and, ‘Putain,’ and all the other curses and maledictions I could think of, but it did not good.

My quills and ink and parchment were gone, and with them any chance of writing my way out of this prison.

Did I want to be the Secret Savior of Shades? After hearing firsthand of Logan’s hellish ordeal, how could I not help them?

Taking in the destruction the gods were wreaking, I knew only one thing-and it hurt in a way that shouldn’t have, in a way I couldn’t really explain.  Seth had to die, but I had no idea how to do it…or if I really could, when it came down to it.
