Origin (Lux #4) by Jennifer L Armentrout. Published Aug 27, 2013 by Entangled Teen. CDN $5.99 kindle edition.
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together? (goodreads excerpt)
OMG I love this series. This book starts right where Opal ended. It is hardcore action packed, edge of your seat awesomeness. I usually get bored with a long series, but this one keeps getting better and better. I love the new characters introduced in this one and the twist that they bring with it.
In origin, we really see how far Daemon and Katy will go to be with and to protect each other. There is a lot of emotion and depth to these two that keeps you rooting them on. I was a little shocked at the end of Opal and hate endings like that. I wanted…needed to know what happens to Katy. I don’t want to spoil anything, but holy this series is emotional. You want to scream, cry, cheer, laugh and everything in between!
In Origin we get a glimpse of what Daedalus is all about. We see what happened to Dawson and Beth and there is a whole lot of suspense built up around what is going to happen to Daemon and Katy. Will they end up like the other two? Will they be stronger? Will they survive? I won’t tell you what happens, but it is action packed all the way.
Origin ends on another cliff-hanger, which is frustrating because it introduced a whole new level to the playing field. I want to know NOW what happens…alas I will have to wait patiently…did I tell you that I am NOT a patient person…lol
Awesome book! 5 stars for me.
